Description

Neville’s Haze is the legendary Haze strain that was named in honour of the father of modern cannabis seed companies, Neville Schoenmakers, an Aussie who was resident in Holland. It has an old-school scent and taste that will perhaps be familiar to cannabists who were smoking imported sativas such as Thai sticks and the like in the late sixties and early seventies.

Neville’s Haze is a cross of NL5 Haze A with a Haze C; as such it is 75% sativa plant that is primarily intended for indoor growers in high latitudes – the only way that northern Europeans can grow a tropical sativa to maturity. Outdoors it will thrive within 10° of the equator and, grown in a greenhouse, maybe a few degrees higher. Indoors the best and most useful pheno-types are those that will finish flowering in less than 16 weeks. Plants that are still not finished by that time may be considered of little use unless the grower finds another trait that is particularly attractive to them in which case it is worth noting that cuttings taken from these plants can be re-vegged and that they will finish 2 or 3 weeks quicker than the mother.

When grown indoors under 600 watt lights yields of 400 gr/m 2 are normal – not a huge amount for such a long flowering phase but then Neville’s Haze was never about the yield. The flavour and high are what makes this so attractive to sativa connoisseurs. This plant grows tall and thin very much like a vine, and it is advised to put them into flowering indoors as soon as cuttings are rooted or seedlings have a few sets of leaves.

Outdoors growers should be prepared to utilise some training methods as this can become a very tall plant. North of the equator harvest time will not be until December, hence the need for a very warm climate! The aroma and flavour is very spicy and herbal with pine notes. The effect is totally cerebral, psychedelic and, for the uninitiated, like a trip on a rocket. Prepare for blast off!

Therapeutically useful for stress and depression.

About Mr Nice Seedbank

Howard Marks and Shantibaba, the men who created Mr Nice Seedbank, met during the late 1990’s while living and working in Holland. In 1995, Shantibaba had set up the Greenhouse Seed Company. Coincidentally, at the same time, Howard was released from a lengthy imprisonment in the USA.

During the next few years, the two became very good friends and discussed the possibility of working together. They decided to start a seed company to help growers throughout the world.

In 1998, Shantibaba sold his interest in the Greenhouse Seed Company and, as a sole trader, set up Mr Nice Seedbank, which has always been and remains a Dutch company. He established Mr Nice Seedbank, with its forty parent plants, to make strains and seeds available to all levels of growers in order to help them spread the genetic diversity of cannabis.

Rather than joining any seed companies’ bandwagon by merely chasing money, Mr Nice Seedbanks dedicated their efforts to make old and new world seeds available for growers. They did not care how many seeds they sold or whether they had a profile in the limelight.

In 1999, Dutch law changed and no longer permitted the production of seeds. However, selling seeds imported from another country remained legal. Mr Nice wanted to fulfil their project without breaking any country’s laws. Accordingly, they moved growing operations to Switzerland, where the law permits growing cannabis for seed production. Many Dutch seed companies lost plants, mother rooms, and seed crops, but in Switzerland, Mr Nice seed production blossomed.

Mr Nice Seedbank has consistently maintained a visible presence on various helpdesks, directly interacting, testing, and researching with the growers of its products. Their aim is to help people, wherever they are, who have worked or intend to work with any of their product.

Description

One of the most visually-striking samples we’ve received, with quite the potency punch, as it knocked our review staff for a bit of a loop with its trippy effects full of hallucinations and a head-spinning initial attack. Once it calmed down a bit though it provided great mood elevation, relaxation, and mild pain relief. We’d warn beginners against this strain, as even a small 0.1g dosage was more than enough to put an experienced patient in another mental dimension for a solid 2.5 hours. If you want a bit of a rollercoaster ride and enjoy the taste of a Sour Diesel or Kush, you owe yourself to try this superb example of Headband, as it was by consensus the best example of it that we’ve ever tried.

Lineage

Chemdog (Chem 91) x (Massachussets Super Skunk x Northern Lights)

Story

Originally named Diesel #1 when made on the East Coast by a breeder known as Weasel, it was nicknamed Underdog, and Daywrecker Diesel, before making its way to California to be renamed Headband by a breeder called Loompa.

The Northern Lights used in the father was from original Sensi Seeds stock.

Appearance

Stacked tight emerald green spearhead calyxes with occasional eggplant accented water leaves, brick red pistils, medium-length thick-stemmed trichomes with large heads

Aroma

This is definitely a Diesel-tinged bouquet, especially before being ground up — it was very pungent in the jar, almost more than it was when handled. The mix of fuel, skunk, spice, bitter citrus, and rubber retains its pungency until it settles a bit, when the aroma changes to more of a soft, slightly sweet presence.

Flavor

Much like the smell, but with more of a skunky, rubbery, fuel empahsis to it, and notes of citrus-pine sharpness, with a thick, expansive smoke.

Qualities

The “phantom sweatband” feeling was in full effect with this sample, as all reviewers reported a near-immediate rush of blood to the head and that familiar constrictive feeling around the perimeter. Almost dizzying to start, this sample was truly potent and took even our experienced reviewers a bit by surprise.

Another interesting similarity was the shared experience of auditory hallucinations, with one reviewer reporting body vibrations coming from sounds and music far more than normal. The high was concentrated in the head, face, and eyes, with some visual hallucinations and an increase in “eye floaters.” It eventually took us to a slightly more relaxed state, where the indica side came out a bit. The finish for this strain was very clean and actually seemed to give us a bump in energy instead of the more common sativa “crash.”

a dime of weed weight

A dime of weed weight

Newbies to the budding world of legal weed (or those who have only purchased pot from a dispensary) might not be familiar with cannabis slang from yesteryear. But that’s why you’ve got your pals at MERRY JANE to bloom your brain and melt your mind with some 101 endo education.

This week, we’ve got another lesson in sensi-semantics for ya. In the past, we’ve defined such THC terms like a “zip” and “dub” — in case you forgot, they’re other units of marijuana measurement — and now we’re back for another hot lesson in weed words. This time, what is a “dime” of weed, and how much bud is that, exactly?

You won’t find a dime of weed in a pot shop, but you might find it on the black market. If it were 1999, a dime would be common. Yes, in Giuliani-era NYC, for example, street dealers would sell dimes left and right. Hell, your bodega guy might even have pre-packaged dimes of weed hidden behind the counter — perfect for when you show up wasted and want to cop a sandwich and secure yourself a little nightcap nug.

Today, however, a dime is less common. In 2019, few underground dealers will deliver you weed for less than a $60 order (typically at least an eighth of pot, especially if you’re in a state with prohibition laws on the books). But for the sake of this history lesson, let’s pretend dimes are still regularly pushed from your friendly neighborhood dealer.

What Does a Dime of Weed Mean?

Basically, a dime of weed — also called a “dimebag” — is $10 worth of pot. Dime is code for 10 as a dime in US currency is equivalent to 10 cents. (Did we blow your mind with that hard knowledge?)

How Much Pot Is in a Dime of Weed?

The amount of pot you can get in a dime of weed varies from place to place, and from dispensary to dealer. To understand if you’re scoring a deal or getting ripped off, you need to get comfortable with the metric system.

US dispensaries (and the rest of the free world) operate in terms of ounces and grams. One ounce is quite a bit of bud and is equal to 28 grams. OK, technically you can buy pot by the pound, but that’s a whole lot of herb.

On average, a dime of weed, dimebag, or ten bag is equal to about half a gram of pot, which equates to about two average-sized joints (or two large spliffs). However, the overall amount you get from your dime depends on several factors.

Gallery — Top Travel Spots for THC Lovers:

Location

Supply and demand is the basis of any product cost. In the US, the most significant factor that determines the price of pot is legalization. States with legal dispensaries offer more supply, and thus costs tend to be lower. So if you’re in a state with legal marijuana, you’ll probably see a little more in your “dime of weed” than if you were in a state where marijuana is not legalized.

If you are purchasing legally, the next thing to consider is taxes. Different states tax marijuana at different rates. If you’re in a high tax state, you’ll likely see less in your dime (bummer). Typically, if you’re closer to where your cannabis is grown, you’ll see more weed in your dimebag.

A “dime of weed” is half of a gram of weed (Photo by Tolula)

Quality

Dispensaries carry high-quality bud that is grown, transported, stored, and sold, according to strict guidelines. These businesses also make sure the herb is pure and can classify strains based on their THC level. Indoor grown weed is pricier than outdoor or sungrown cannabis, due to production costs like electricity, water, and other factors related to licensing. With higher quality, comes higher cost, which translates to less pot in your dime of weed. Still, though, if you go to a dispensary and only drop 10 bucks, the budtender is likely going to roll his eyes at you…

Time of year

Most outdoor farms have their harvest season in the early fall. If you time your purchasing right, you can take advantage of the influx of new herb and get a little extra in your dime. Additionally, the more you buy, the lower the cost per unit. Just like Costco, buying in bulk gives you the best deal in the long run (just make sure you store all of your weed correctly for later use).

A dime of weed is $10 worth of marijuana. That will get you different amounts of pot based on things like quality and location. But good luck finding anyone who sells dime bags in the black market anymore. Even the dealers who still slang weed in plastic cubes are likely pushing at least a dub, if not more. The more you know!

Today, we’ve got another lesson in sinsemilla semantics for you. What exactly is a "dimebag," and who even sells them anymore?

kombucha pot

How To Make Kombucha Tea at Home

I’ve been addicted to kombucha from first sip. It wasn’t really the probiotics or other health promises that did it for me — although I’ll take those, too! It was the way it tasted: like tart green apple mixed with sour stone fruits, but with an underlying sweetness that keeps it all together. And fizzy! I couldn’t believe that something this delicious could actually be made from tea, of all things. Or that I could make it at home with a few very basic ingredients.

What Is Kombucha Tea?

Kombucha starts out as a sugary tea, which is then fermented with the help of a scoby. “SCOBY” is actually an acronym for “symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast.” It’s very close cousins to the mother used to make vinegar.

The scoby bacteria and yeast eat most of the sugar in the tea, transforming the tea into a refreshingly fizzy, slightly sour fermented (but mostly non-alcoholic) beverage that is relatively low in calories and sugar.

The Best, Cheapest Jar for Brewing Kombucha

If you need a jar to get your kombucha brewing, this is our favorite 1-gallon option. It even comes with cheesecloth and a lid so you don’t have to hunt those down separately.

The SCOBY

Let’s talk about that scoby — you can see what it looks like in the picture above. It’s weird, right? It floats, it’s rubbery and a bit slippery, brown stringy bits hang from it, and it transforms sugary tea into something fizzy and sour. It’s totally weird. But if you take a step back, it’s also pretty awesome.

There are a lot of theories about why the bacteria and yeast form this jelly-like layer of cellulose at the top of the kombucha. The most plausible that I’ve found is that it protects the fermenting tea from the air and helps maintain a very specific environment inside the jar that is shielded from outsiders, aka unfriendly bacteria. I think of it as the mobile home for friendly bacteria and yeast, happily traveling from jar to jar of kombucha.

Make your own scoby! Here’s how:

Probiotics?

Which brings us to the next question: What’s actually in kombucha? Kombucha is indisputably full of probiotics and other happy things that our intestines love and that help boost our overall health. Claims that kombucha cures things like arthritis, depression, and heart burn have less of a proven track record, but hey, our bodies are all different and I say go for it if it works for you.

Brewing Kombucha Safely

While the home-brewed nature of kombucha makes some home cooks nervous, it’s unlikely that kombucha will ever make you sick. I spoke with Eric Child of Kombucha Brooklyn when I first started working on my homebrewing book, True Brews, and he said something that has really stuck with me: “Kombucha has been around for a very long time and been brewed in environments that were even dirtier than our own.”

Like all things, you need to use common sense when brewing it and pay attention to what you’re doing. It’s natural to feel nervous and unsure at first. Bottom line: If the scoby is healthy, then the kombucha will be healthy. (See the Troubleshooting section below.)

Is There Alcohol in Kombucha?

Kombucha does contain a little bit of alcohol as a by-product of the fermentation process. It is usually no more than 1%, so unless you drink several glasses back to back, you should be just fine. However, people with alcohol sensitivities or who avoid alcohol for other reasons should be aware of its presence.

I’m breaking the kombucha-making process into very small steps here. It looks long and complicated, but this is actually a very straightforward and streamlined process. Once you get into the rhythm of it, bottling a finished batch of kombucha and preparing the next only takes about 20 minutes every seven to 10 days.

Where to Find Kombucha Brewing Supplies

You can use regular, store-bought tea and sugar for brewing kombucha. You can pick up a scoby from a kombucha-brewing friend or even make your own:

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 quarts

sugar (regular granulated sugar works best)

black tea, green tea, or a mix (or 2 tablespoons loose tea)

starter tea from last batch of kombucha or store-bought kombucha (unpasteurized, neutral-flavored)

scoby per fermentation jar, homemade or purchased online

Optional flavoring extras for bottling
  • 1 to 2 cups

1 to 2 tablespoons

flavored tea (like hibiscus or Earl Grey)

2 to 4 tablespoons

fresh herbs or spices

Equipment

1-gallon glass jar or two 2-quart glass jars

Tightly woven cloth (like clean napkins or tea towels), covvee filters, or paper towels, to cover the jar

Bottles: Six 16-oz glass bottles with plastic lids, swing-top bottles, or clean soda bottles

Instructions

Note: Avoid prolonged contact between the kombucha and metal both during and after brewing. This can affect the flavor of your kombucha and weaken the scoby over time.
Make the tea base:
Bring the water to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar to dissolve. Drop in the tea and allow it to steep until the water has cooled. Depending on the size of your pot, this will take a few hours. You can speed up the cooling process by placing the pot in an ice bath.

Add the starter tea: Once the tea is cool, remove the tea bags or strain out the loose tea. Stir in the starter tea. (The starter tea makes the liquid acidic, which prevents unfriendly bacteria from taking up residence in the first few days of fermentation.)

Transfer to jars and add the scoby: Pour the mixture into a 1-gallon glass jar (or divide between two 2-quart jars, in which case you’ll need 2 scobys) and gently slide the scoby into the jar with clean hands. Cover the mouth of the jar with a few layers tightly-woven cloth, coffee filters, or paper towels secured with a rubber band. (If you develop problems with gnats or fruit flies, use a tightly woven cloth or paper towels, which will do a better job keeping the insects out of your brew.)

Ferment for 7 to 10 days: Keep the jar at room temperature, out of direct sunlight, and where it won’t get jostled. Ferment for 7 to 10 days, checking the kombucha and the scoby periodically.

It’s not unusual for the scoby to float at the top, bottom, or even sideways during fermentation. A new cream-colored layer of scoby should start forming on the surface of the kombucha within a few days. It usually attaches to the old scoby, but it’s ok if they separate. You may also see brown stringy bits floating beneath the scoby, sediment collecting at the bottom, and bubbles collecting around the scoby. This is all normal and signs of healthy fermentation.

After 7 days, begin tasting the kombucha daily by pouring a little out of the jar and into a cup. When it reaches a balance of sweetness and tartness that is pleasant to you, the kombucha is ready to bottle.

Remove the scoby: Before proceeding, prepare and cool another pot of strong tea for your next batch of kombucha, as outlined above. With clean hands, gently lift the scoby out of the kombucha and set it on a clean plate. As you do, check it over and remove the bottom layer if the scoby is getting very thick.

Bottle the finished kombucha: Measure out your starter tea from this batch of kombucha and set it aside for the next batch. Pour the fermented kombucha (straining, if desired) into bottles using the small funnel, along with any juice, herbs, or fruit you may want to use as flavoring. Leave about a half inch of head room in each bottle. (Alternatively, infuse the kombucha with flavorings for a day or two in another covered jar, strain, and then bottle. This makes a cleaner kombucha without “stuff” in it.)

Carbonate and refrigerate the finished kombucha: Store the bottled kombucha at room temperature out of direct sunlight and allow 1 to 3 days for the kombucha to carbonate. Until you get a feel for how quickly your kombucha carbonates, it’s helpful to keep it in plastic bottles; the kombucha is carbonated when the bottles feel rock solid. Refrigerate to stop fermentation and carbonation, and then consume your kombucha within a month.

Make a fresh batch of kombucha: Clean the jar being used for kombucha fermentation. Combine the starter tea from your last batch of kombucha with the fresh batch of sugary tea, and pour it into the fermentation jar. Slide the scoby on top, cover, and ferment for 7 to 10 days.

Kombucha can be made at home with just a handful of ingredients. In this tutorial, we'll show you exactly what to do in detailed step-by-step instructions.

greek god of hemp

The Cave of Oracle

musings of a mad prophet

Asterion: The God of Cannabis

Marijuana Leaf (Photo Courtesy of marijuana.com)

“Cultivated hemp. Cannabis (some call it Cannabion, some Schoinstrophon, some Asterion) is a plant of much use in this life for the twisting of very strong ropes. It bears leaves like to the Ash, of a bad scent, long stalks, empty, a round seed, which being eaten of much doth quench geniture, but being juiced when green is good for pain of the ears.” (Russo, E.B., MD. Cannabis and Cannabinoids: Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Therapeutic Potential)

“Pausanias continues that above the Argive Heraion flowed the river Asterion, on whose banks grew the asterion plant. The vines and leaves were woven into garlands for the statue of Hera, and the plant was made an offering to Her. Asterion was one of the ancient names for cannabis, according to the first century C.E. Greek physician named Dioscurides.” (Rigoglioso, M. The Cult of Divine Birth in Ancient Greece)

Note: the following blog post in no way reflects the teachings of the Minoan Brotherhood. It is a result of my own independent research into entheogens. NO secret teachings of the Brotherhood are held within this post.

Cannabis
Cannabis has been a psychotropic drug, otherwise known as an entheogen, since ancient times. The origin of the plant is thought to have come from Central Asia (Rudgley, R. The Lost Civilizations of the Stone Age). Its use for twine is well-known, but braziers were also discovered as far west as Romania showing evidence that the seeds were burnt for ritual purposes (and I suspect the use of cannabis may have lead to big munchies which nearly killed of the Mammoths, but just my morbid speculation). These discoveries date back to the Neolithic Era. Cannabis, along with opium, were venerated in places like Minoan Crete for their properties as mind-altering substances which opened up the portals to the spirit realm. It’s a well-known fact that many spirit walkers in indigenous societies use entheogens in order to connect with the spirit realm. Central Asia, as the ancient home of cannabis, is also conjectured to be the source of Pythagoras’ teacher Abaris (Kingsley, P. A Story Waiting to Pierce You). It wouldn’t be too much of a leap in logic to suggest that wherever a spirit-walker went, his psychotropic drugs went with them.

Connecting to the Spirits
This fact makes the illegal status of marijuana even more of a travesty, since it is forbidding us from engaging with the Gods in ways our ancestors would have known. Many realms, I believe, remain untapped due to the non-use of this potent drug, and it has also diluted the essential power of the Craft (in my opinion). To be a spirit walker, an iatromantis, a shaman, or what-have-you, is to have an alliance with the realms of the plant and animal spirits. It means to remember the time of the Sacred Ancestors and join in the Sun Dance of the Labyrinth. It means to open ourselves up to the spirits themselves and use their connection as a authentication of our power. Without that connection, a spirit walker is nothing. Although the use of drugs is not necessary, it is also not forbidden. I think the Mysteries, missing this ingredient, are robbed in some way of their true essence. These plants had a meaning that was more than the average street user or the “War on Drugs” politician could ever imagine. They were the lifeline our ancestors relied on for a purpose. Opium was sacred to the Goddess Rhea for a reason. Cannabis was labeled Asterion for a reason.

Europa taken by the White Bull

The White Bull and the Western Cow
As I wrote in another post, the public name of the God in the Minoan Brotherhood is Asterion. The mythology we have available states that Asterion was the name of two sacred kings in Minoan Crete: the first was a Cretan King who reared the children of Zeus and Europa. Europa was a Phoenician princess (hinting at the cultural relationship between the Minoans and the Phoenicians), kidnapped by Zeus in the form of a white bull. The etymology of Europa means “wide-eyed,” and hints that she was possibly a Cow Goddess. The abduction story of Europa is very similar to the kidnapping of Kore by Hades:

“Zeus saw Europa the daughter of Phoenix gathering flowers in a meadow with some nymphs and fell in love with her. So he came down and changed himself into a bull and breathed from his mouth a crocus. 18 In this way he deceived Europa, carried her off and crossed the sea to Crete where he had intercourse with her. Then in this condition he made her live with Asterion the king of the Cretans. There she conceived and bore three sons, Minos, Sarpedon and Rhadamanthys. The tale is in Hesiod and Bacchylides.” (The Catalogues of Women by Hesiod).

All three sons were raised by Asterion, who wed Europa. After their marriage, Zeus transformed the White Bull into the constellation Taurus. Two of the sons, Minos and Rhadamanthys, became Judges of the Underworld. Sarpedon became a long-lived king (some say he died in the Trojan War, and Philostratus mentions that he, too, became Judge in the Underworld with his brothers). This is quite the story, and holds a lot of interest to me because of the early relationship, as I previously pointed out, about the kidnapping of the Maiden to become a Queen of a rich land.

Attic Kylic depicting Pasiphae and Her baby Minotaur

The Star of the Labyrinth
The second Asterion is the Minotaur of the Labyrinth. Asterion was the Son of Poseidon (the Zeus of the Sea) and Pasiphae, daughter of the Sun God, sister of the sorceress Kirke, and wife of Minos (son of Zeus). Pasiphae was considered to be a Goddess in Her own right. Plutarch mentions:

“Now there was a temple and much respected oracle of Pasiphae at Thalamae.” (Plutarch on Sparta, p. 60).

Pasiphae possessed the ability of Witchcraft, which was to say she was a skilled pharmakos. I personally would LOVE to know how she had her husband ejaculate scorpions, millipedes and snakes into women she hated. Talk about some jacked up shit! That makes for a great anime!

Anyway, Pasiphae and Poseidon’s child was at the center of the Labyrinth. For now we’re ignoring the Greek telling, because it was full of political claptrap that made the Athenians look good and the Minoans very evil. Theseus, the hero, was the legendary founder of Athens (and Athenian democracy which subjugated women as chattels and property). What a piece of shit. Ignoring the political veneer, the Minotaur is shown in the Attic Kylix just like the classic Mother-Child motif found with Aset (Isis) and Heru (Horus), Parvarti and Ganesha, and Mary with Jesus.

R.F. Willetts speculates that the Labyrinth design was based on an ancient sun dance (Ancient Crete: From Early Times Until the Roman Occupation). The ancient mimetic dance was probably used to honor the Sun Bull, the Cretan Zeus, who was represented in the person of the Minoan King. The journey into the Labyrinth and from it was probably a rite of Initiation, whereby the person was led by the Priestess (Ariadne, the Spider Weaver who used the scarlet cord to lead them to the center). At the very heart, the initiate became the Man-Bull: the union of Divinity and Mortality.

Reefer Madness!
Cannabis was identified as being called Asterion, the gift of Poseidon. His mother was a pharmakoi Goddess, Pasiphae. The ritual use of cannabis was the catalyst of Enlightenment (or, as I call it, Gnosis). The prototype for Dionysus from Crete, then, is the jewel Cannabis: the Son of the pre-Olympian Poseidon who is the Sacred Bull. That’s right peoples: reefer madness of Dionysus! Pipe it up, inhale, and enjoy the effects. In fact, cannabis enjoys and interesting piece of warning which the United States slapped on it much like the Romans did on the Bacchic revels in 186 BCE:

“Marihuana is that drug – a violent narcotic – an unspeakable scourge – The Real Public Enemy Number 1! It’s first effect is sudden, violent, uncontrollable laughter; then come dangerous hallucinations – space expands – time slows down, almost stands still…fixed ideas come next, conjuring up monstrous extravagances – followed by emotional disturbances, the total inability to direct thoughts, the loss of all power to resist physical emotions…leading finally to acts of shocking violence…ending often in incurable insanity.”

Misty Kush is a mostly indica variety from Nirvana and can be cultivated indoors (where the plants will need a flowering time of ±63 days ) and outdoors . Nirvanas Misty Kush is a THC dominant variety and is/was also available as feminized seeds.

Nirvanas Misty Kush Description

The name Misty Kush is a tribute to a legendary Nirvana strain of yesteryear, the Misty. She is based on a big yielding Medusa mom and a highly resinous Master Kush dad. This elite strain resembles the old Misty strain in stature. She has a bushy structure, with big oval-shaped fan leaves, has a medium to dark-green color, rapid flowering and is of medium height. Misty Kush is ideal for SOG or SCROG to maximize yields. On a hydroponics system you will be able to shorten the flowering period by one week. She is a massive budding beast with enormous triangular-shaped colas and is suited for both indoor and outdoor.

Misty Kush is a rapidly growing strain that looks a lot like her ancestors, Misty and White Widow in structure. Abundant trichome formation can create a potentially high level of THC. Bud structure is dense and compact with nuggets hard as rock.

The terpenes produce a wonderful taste and aroma of exotic fruit, slightly sweet with hints of lemon and mango. The high is long lasting: a relaxing powerful body-stone. For pain management, cramps and muscular spasms she works wonders.

Legal Anaheim, CA Marijuana Dispensary Information

Is it Legal to Buy Marijuana at any Anaheim Dispensary?

As you search the Internet, simply drive around Anaheim or most cities for that matter these days, you’ll likely find a few or even dozens of marijuana dispensaries and weed delivery services. With medical and recreational marijuana legalization now becoming a reality for most States, one would think that all these Anaheim dispensaries are legal and have licenses to safely sell marijuana to you at any time. Unfortunately, although this may be the case one day across America, it is most definitely not the case today. Generally, States legalize medical marijuana first and do so as a trial towards fully legalizing marijuana for recreational use. States have historically created very few restrictions on medical marijuana sales and use in the attempt to get patients the medicine they need quickly and easily. These loose restrictions and guidelines create an environment where marijuana businesses operate mostly hands-off and therefore new businesses are created very fast. In short time, it seems there are many weed stores and likely legal Anaheim dispensaries on every corner. To be fair, some cities are not like this and there are only a few marijuana shops, or even cities where the only marijuana to be purchased in on the black market.

To know whether it is legal to buy marijuana at any Anaheim dispensary or delivery service you first must know the State law, and then the local Anaheim, CA or community laws or regulations. Yes, it’s complicated and at times very difficult to know whether you can legally consume marijuana or purchase from what appears to be legal Anaheim dispensaries. If the State has yet to legalize medical or recreational marijuana, weed is most probably illegal to purchase or consume. If the State has legalized medical marijuana only, then a quick Google search for legal Anaheim dispensaries regulations will help determine if you can legally purchase and smoke weed in Anaheim with a valid medical marijuana doctor’s recommendation. If you are not familiar with a recommendation, it’s somewhat like a prescription to buy marijuana. If your State has legalized recreational marijuana, then a simple Google search for California Anaheim marijuana or Orange County marijuana regulations will help determine if you can legally purchase and smoke weed in Anaheim for adult use.

The final step to truly feel confident you are buying marijuana legally in Anaheim, requires you to see proof of that businesses license, or visit the State marijuana license database, or see if this Anaheim marijuana business is on Mama’s Ganja. Mama’s Ganja only provides contact information for legal Anaheim dispensaries and delivery services with valid licenses so it’s the easiest way to know if a business is legal and you are not breaking the law.

How to Find Licensed Legal Anaheim Dispensaries

There are three ways to find Anaheim dispensaries that can sell marijuana legally since they are licensed to do so. The first option is to visit your Anaheim marijuana dispensary or call your Anaheim marijuana delivery service and ask them if they have a California license and what the license number is. With this California marijuana license information, a consumer can visit the State marijuana regulations website and check the database for that business. Anaheim dispensaries can only provide marijuana legally if the license is valid. The second option is to go directly to the California marijuana database and find legal Anaheim dispensaries or delivery services to Anaheim, CA. The third way is the easiest and that is to find a legal marijuana business with a valid license on Mama’s Ganja. Mama’s Ganja legal Anaheim dispensaries and shops that are listed must have a valid license. You will never find a black-market marijuana shop on the Mama’s Ganja directory.

Why are Anaheim Marijuana Prices Higher than Before?

People who have been purchasing marijuana prior to legalization efforts may have a case of sticker shock when the make their first legal marijuana purchase from Anaheim dispensaries. Now that the government is regulating marijuana there are new taxes, like alcohol, that need to be added to the price of the cannabis product being purchased. Compounding these new taxes are all the regulations that legal Anaheim dispensaries must adhere to for their license to remain in an active status. These regulations are at times costly and a legal business has no other choice than to pass those costs on to the people buying legal Anaheim marijuana in a retail establishment. Finally, since marijuana is still a Schedule 1 drug and outlawed by the Federal Government, legal Anaheim dispensaries are not currently able to deduct any regular business expenses due to IRS section 280E. In conclusion, the reason Anaheim marijuana prices are higher than before is due to new taxes, the cost of compliance to new regulations, and the lack of general business expense deductions.

How to Know if Your Anaheim, CA Marijuana Dispensary is Legal

6 Tips to Tell if your Anaheim Marijuana Store is Legal and Licensed

As you browse all the Anaheim Marijuana shops, each with its own Brand and menu of products, Mama’s Ganja wanted to provide you with some helpful tips to ensure you do your best and only buy marijuana from legal Anaheim dispensaries.

State License Visible

When you go to a Anaheim dispensaries website is the State license displayed? If a business is licensed, it has to show its customers the license number so they can audit that license if they want to do so. If the website has a license and license number, then they are likely legal, and it is safe to buy marijuana there. If the Anaheim dispensaries website only says legal but does not display or communicate the State license number, then the business is likely NOT legal, and you should find another business who has a displayed license.

TIP: Immediately when you enter a Anaheim marijuana dispensary look for a California cannabis retail license posted on the door or a wall. Take a close look at the license to ensure it is valid and also states the correct type of California cannabis business activities like storefront or delivery or both.

Identification Checking

When you enter your favorite Anaheim dispensaries or call for a delivery, do the employees who help you asked for your State Identification to ensure you are 21 or over? This is a must have requirement for Anaheim dispensaries. If you are not asked for your State issued identification and can just buy marijuana freely, chances are that business is NOT legal and you should find another legal business to purchase marijuana legally.

TIP: When you enter the Anaheim dispensary or engage a Anaheim marijuana delivery driver, keep your wallet in your pocket or bag. Wait and see if the dispensary asks for your identification to ensure you are of legal age to purchase cannabis in California.

Pre-packaged Marijuana

In most States, marijuana must be pre-packaged for retail sale. Similar to alcohol being pre-packaged for retail sales at a grocery store or liquor store, marijuana purchased at a retail establishment, like Anaheim dispensaries, must be pre-packaged and labeled with tracking information. There may be one day in the future where marijuana can be purchased open like a restaurant pours alcoholic drinks, but for retail stores or any legal Anaheim dispensaries and delivery services the weed must be pre-packaged. If your order is not pre-packaged and was made to order you are making an illegal purchase and can easily find legal Anaheim dispensaries on Mama’s Ganja if businesses are listed yet.

TIP: When you are ordering from a Anaheim dispensary closely watch how the employees prepare your cannabis order. If your order is being packaged as a custom order and not provided as a pre-packaged product order, then you are likely in or ordering from a black market California dispensary.

Lab Tested Cannabis Products

When you purchase cannabis flower marijuana from a legal Anaheim dispensaries or weed delivery services, you will see lab-testing information on the packaging. This marijuana lab-testing information will show you the results of the test including strength of the THC %, as well as other compounds in the plants like CBD and CBN. The test will also certify that the cannabis plant has no pesticides or residues from fertilizers or other foreign substances. If your package of marijuana flower does not have a lab testing label on it, then the legal Anaheim marijuana dispensary or delivery service is not operating in compliance with State law, or you are making an illegal purchase from a black market Anaheim marijuana business.

TIP: Closely review the packaging of your cannabis product to find the legal lab tested label. All California cannabis businesses and legal Anaheim dispensaries will only carry marijuana flower with lab tested labels present on the packaging.

Higher Prices

Legal Anaheim dispensaries, whether they be storefronts, delivery services, growers, distributors, manufacturers, or lab-testing facilities, must comply with many regulations and that costs money. These legal Anaheim dispensaries have costs that are much higher than the black market and prior to the regulations being put in place. Unfortunately, those costs are passed down to the consumer at retail. This makes the price of legal marijuana products higher than the black market, much higher is some cases. After the cost of regulations, you have excises taxes and sales taxes. Excise tax is special tax that is placed on a product by law and is simply added to the price of the product. After the excise tax is added, then sales tax is calculated and the product price plus the excise tax amount is used to calculate the sales tax. Yes, you guessed right that there is a little bit of double tax there. This is very similar to alcohol and other consumer products that require excise tax and sales tax. Finally, since marijuana is still a Schedule 1 drug and outlawed by the Federal Government, legal marijuana businesses are not currently able to deduct any regular business expenses due to IRS section 280E. In conclusion, the reason legal Anaheim dispensaries prices are higher than before is due to new taxes, the cost of compliance to new regulations, and the lack of general business expense deductions.

TIP: Check all cannabis product prices on the posted menu of your Anaheim dispensary. If the cannabis product menu prices seem too low, then inquire with a representative and ask to see a valid California cannabis retail license.

Taxes on Receipt

After you purchase marijuana for the first time from legal Anaheim dispensaries, you will be provided a receipt. Being provided a receipt is a regulation that a legal cannabis business must adhere to with each order. As a consumer looks at the receipt, they must see the taxes and understand the taxes. In some cases, legal Anaheim dispensaries may include the sales tax in the price of the product, and then have the excise tax as a line item. This is ok and completely legal. In other cases, the excise tax and the sales tax will be listed as line items. Do make sure that the taxes are listed on the receipt and ask for clarification if anything is not clear. If you see taxes listed on the receipt, then the business is likely a legal Anaheim marijuana dispensary or delivery service.

TIP: Scan your receipt to the bottom and look for any itemized California excise taxes, Orange County taxes and Anaheim local city taxes. These should be clearly present and added to your Total amount paid receipt.

Anaheim, CA Marijuana Demographics and Market Information

The Anaheim Marijuana Market

Anaheim Marijuana, also known as Cannabis among other names and slangs, like “weed”, has never really been that hard to find for medical or recreational use. Any plant that produces a pleasant psychoactive drug called tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) from its 483 compounds, including at least 65 other cannabinoids is a gift that will always be with us. With a city population of 346,776, there are plenty of options to find Anaheim marijuana from someone you know, or someone in your marijuana social network. Most likely, of all the 104,763 households in Anaheim, there is bound to be a Anaheim marijuana grow room or garden very near being managed by one of the 3.42 average people in a Anaheim home. With 24.8% of Anaheim residents owning a college degree, and 6.9% owning an advanced degree, there are surely people taking advantage of their education by becoming Anaheim licensed growers, Anaheim licensed manufacturers, Anaheim licensed distributors, Anaheim licensed lab test facilities, or Anaheim dispensaries, which are all licensed marijuana retail businesses. It’s hard to say if the Anaheim median household income of $61,826.00 is being driven by any this potential marijuana income from legal marijuana businesses or the black market. Regardless, you can feel safe that Mama’s Ganja will only promote legal Anaheim dispensaries and delivery services from which to choose.

Who are the Anaheim Marijuana Users?

Earliest recorded uses of marijuana date back to the 3rd millennium BC. Marijuana is most used for its mental and physical effects, like a high feeling, a noticeable change in perception, euphoria, happiness, and an increase in appetite. People using marijuana has continued for centuries, even in the United States until prohibition started in the 1960’s. Prohibition of marijuana has been an Industry in itself for over half a century. Anaheim Marijuana is no different, but the user numbers speak loudly and are growing fast. Today, marijuana can be used by smoking, vaporizing, within food, or as an extract of many sorts. Prohibition did not have any effect on the 225,404 people who have tried marijuana; that’s 65% of the Anaheim general population. What’s even more interesting is that 110,968 people currently use, and a healthy 24% say they regularly use Anaheim Marijuana. Lonely stoner? Have no fear, there are 83,226 Anaheim marijuana consumers to toke up with today after visiting legal Anaheim dispensaries! Although it appears a very social drug with 66% of Anaheim residents expressing that it is socially acceptable, many users are very private about their use and appreciate discreetness. This is the likely reason that only 21% of Anaheim marijuana users declare they use marijuana for fun. The majority of users, 79% in fact, declare they use marijuana for a purpose. Generally, the most frequent purpose is medical for pain, anxiety, stress or other ailments that may require over the counter or prescription medication. Socialites can relax, users for fun number 72,823, so there are plenty of people with which to enjoy marijuana. One group that may be looking for fun is parents of children. There are 204,598 users of Anaheim marijuana that are parents. With the demands and expectations placed on parents today, how can you blame them for purchasing marijuana from legal Anaheim dispensaries and delivery services as a safe alternative to alcohol or other prescription drugs. Anaheim marijuana users are not an aging group that will all be gone one day as millennials also enjoy the plant. In fact, 57% of Anaheim users are millennials. These 197,662 millennial marijuana consumers will ensure the plants support and growing legal usage for years to come.

How Many People Support Anaheim Marijuana?

Support for legalization of marijuana has never been higher. Many say the genie is out of the bottle and support for legalization has crossed the chasm. It’s not a matter of if marijuana will be legalized, it’s a matter of when. For Anaheim in particular, 91% of residents support medical marijuana, and 59% support full legalization of the plant and its products. That’s a lot of people! Specifically, 315,566 supporting medical decriminalization, and 204,598 supporting full legalization of marijuana. What’s interesting, but not really a surprise, is of all the Anaheim supporters of full legalization, users who have tried it, 225,404 people, have the highest support rate. However, there are people in Anaheim who have never purchased from legal Anaheim dispensaries and delivery services or tried marijuana, 121,372, and still support legalization. As of 2019, 80% of users who’ve tried marijuana support legalization for medical use and 35% support full recreational legalization. When will marijuana be legalized across the United States is hard to predict, but with support numbers like these it will happen.
