Genetic

The Genetic (Gene) is the 3rd job class of Alchemists. Genetics are powerful damage dealers, capable of dealing heavy ranged damage to mobs of enemies using Cart Cannon . They also have access to special consumables to help them and others such as +20 STAT foods and new potions.

Skills

Merchant

Your movement speed is reduced while you have a pushcart with you. Higher levels can remove this reduction.

  • Items inside the pushcart cannot be used or equipped directly, and must be brought outside to be used.
  • You can access the pushcart using Alt+W.
  • Note that there is a 3% vending tax applied to all your sales.

Strike an area with your pushcart and knock back enemies up to 2 cells away.

  • The more weight in your cart the more damage this skill will do.

Damage for this skill is based on this formula;
Damage (ATK) = [150 + (100 × Curr_CartWeight ÷ Max_CartWeight)]%

Alchemist

Duration 15 minutes.

  • You must have the applicable guide book for the item your are trying to brew.
  • This deals additional damage for each level of Potion Research .

The monster will explode shortly after being damaged, and can damage any character nearby.

If you do not have a homunculus, you will instead create a random base homunculus, and consume 1 Embryo

There are two forms for each type of homunculus;

  • Ranked potions do not give any bonus to the healing from this skill.

Has a chance to destroy the targets Armor and Weapon.

  • This skills animation shows 10 hits regardless of skill level.
  • Damage is increased based on your INT, and the targets VIT.
  • This skill deals only long ranged physical damage.
  • This skills element is determined by your weapon property.

Also increase your cart’s maximum weight limit.

  • Damage from this skill is forced to the element of the cannonball equipped.

Targets trapped in a Thorn trap will take a small amount of damage every second.

If a target trapped is hit by a fire property skill, they are released immediately.

  • You can have up to 3 Thorn traps at the same time.
  • A maximum of three blood sucking plants can be attached to enemies before the first one expires. One per target.
  • If the target is over 12 cells away, the blood sucking plant will fall off.
  • If two blood sucking plants are attached to the same target, the last one overrides the first one, resetting the timer.

    Whenever an enemy touches the wall, they are damaged and knocked back.

    If the thorn wall is hit with a Fire property attack, it transforms into a firewall.

    This skill also removes ground effects.

    • This skill deals long ranged physical damage.
    • This skills damage is increased depending on the caster’s Base Level.
    • The vines surge up in 5×5 area of effects randomly in the larger area of the skill, potentially missing some areas inside.
    • Targets inside the area can be hit by multiple vines.
    • Howling status effect reduces INT, drains SP and extends their Fixed Casting Time of all skills.

    When used with Twin Edge of Naght Sieger (Blue) [3] , Cart Cannon damage can be greatly boosted. While the hat can reduce VCT (at +7 or greater), FCT (based on refine) and increase ATK and MATK (based on refine).

    Do not invest into this unless you’ve a shit ton of Zeny to spend (something like 300M+) or lots of time to spend in the dungeon. Getting the correct special enchant that benefits your build is 100% RNG and it may take ages to some.

    Middle

    Depending on the enchants passed it can be a valuable option to have in some builds because of the extra bonus it gives with Violet Halo .

    Good and not super hard to make low headgear. With easy access to Condensed White Potion this is an optimal HP recovery gear doubling their effectiveness.

    Best option if you need extra stats or Perfect Dodge for some reason.

    While alone it doesn’t provide much, his combo with Giant Snake Skin provides a bunch of nice bonus that are even relevant in the end game.

    Can be paired with:

    Very rare item that is only great with Fallen Warrior Manteau due to the bonus the combo offers for a bunch of builds. If you don’t own both, it does nothing.

    Mostly used for the combo with Scalpel [3] to gain Immortal Heart and Alcohol when killing Demi-human and brute monsters (these are the materials used in making more materials for some of the Genetic’s skills).

    Although can be also used in a few builds due to the mix of possible enchants that you can achieve with one, it’s mostly used for the mix of -%delay and ATK it offers at +9.

    With 2 Modification Module (Power) enchants you can also use this for other classes vs using with 2 Modification Module (Shooter) enchants Can be enchanted – Episode 17.1 – Illusion

    When used with either version of Amistr Beret, Cart Cannon damage can be greatly boosted. The sword itself has a chance to ignore the defense of normal monsters and enables manual casting of level 5 Frost Diver .

    This weapon increases Cart Cannon and ranged damage while reducing VCT at +7, it also removes a hefty amount of ACD at +11

    Knight’s Shield [1] Cash Shop

    One of the best balanced shields in terms of offensive and defensive stats.

    Free version of Knight’s Shield. Due to that it can’t be traded nor sold to other players.

    Obtained by doing Weekly and Daily Quests and trading the Endeavor Tokens at the Master of Coins NPC.

    Upgraded version of the Knight’s Shield [1] / Cursed Knight’s Shield [1] and pretty much the best shield available at the moment in terms of offensive and defensive stats.

    Due to the possibility of being able to get an enchant that let’s you bypass up to 60% of hard DEF, it’s also the best in slot for many builds that make use of a shield.

    A great pure offensive shield.

    At +12 it also gives a decent boost in CRIT.

    Free version of Mad Bunny Shield. Due to that it can’t be traded nor sold to other players.

    Obtained by doing Weekly and Daily Quests and trading the Endeavor Tokens at the Master of Coins NPC.

    Great defensive option against neutral damage.

    At +9 becomes a decent option overall.

    Excels at +11-12 where with other gears with similar effect (-% neutral dmg) lets you play a -100% neutral build.

    Great defensive option against some elemental damage.

    This is mostly a PvP shield at the moment although still useful in PvM.

    Heroic Backpack [1] Battlegrounds, Monster Hunter – Low Rank Hunts, Gold Coins

    Okay mid game option mostly for ASPD CRIT builds if you can get one for cheap or farm for it.

    It only excels at +9 (+7 isn’t worth nowadays, there are better options below for almost the same or a cheaper price) so always think first before spending your zenny.

    While alone it looks more of a gear that a tank would use due to the stats it provides, with the right enchants and Poison Breath ends being a great gear relevant even in the end game.

    Can be paired with:

    Since it can get enchants that increase your critical damage or ranged dmg, it’s a great option valid for some builds even in the end game.

    A versatile thanks to the Modification Modules that you can add up to 3 of for cast time damage reduction, ASPD and more.

    Can be paired with:

    It can end being the best option for when you need CRIT at the cost of dmg or for when you need Ranged Damage but thanks to the heavy RNG that exists with the enchants, most of the time it isn’t worth the trouble to get them. It’s still here because if you’re lucky enough, it can end being really good in some specific occasions and/or builds.

    It can also end being a cheaper alternative to Fallen Angel Wings [1] if you find one with decent enchants for a cheaper price.

    Alone it’s pretty much a better Heroic Backpack [1] if the refine is above +10 but when paired with Vicious Mind Aura it offers a ton of good bonus useful for a bunch of builds.

    The slotted version can be paired with:

    Adds Ranged attack per 3 refine and reduces ACD at +11.

    Great for reducing variable cast time by stats, increasing damage for ranged attacks and adds some max HP and SP.

    Good customizable option for almost all builds due to the enchants that you can add here and the ability to share more freely between characters.

    Sheriff’s Left Badge [1] Fistful of Zeny Quest

    Great starting item that can be obtained for free.

    If you’re new into the server, do the quest at level 100 to get a decent amount of experience while doing it.

    Because Illusion Boosters and Insignias are now also available (check both options below), Physical Enhancer Ring [1] with different enchants is mostly a starting option for the right slot if you find something cheap. For the left slot you can just buy a King Schmidt’s Strong Insignia [1] (or the items needed to make them – More Info Available at Fall of Glast Heim) and ignore enchants for a while.

    Because of the enchant options available, it’s a great option available for almost all builds.

    Insignias are expensive but currently the best to get for the left accessory slot with the right enchants.

    Just remember that if you’re going for Strong as the 3rd enchant, the Bear’s Might transformation makes some skills having a slower animation but the damage boost is worth it.

    Overview

    Hello citizens of NovaRO.

    I, Gray Lino, have been playing this server for less than a year.
    It has been my first renewal server, and I’ve decided to make a genetic as my main.
    Since I started, I’ve been performing tests on ALL combos for genetics with their respective homunculus and gears.
    It is still on-going depending on the updates of the server.

    A Genetic is a third class of the merchant job. It is a job that can do every type of damage naming melee, ranged, and magic.
    You can be a genetic following this job pattern: Novice > Merchant > Biochemist > Creator > Genetic ; or Novice > Merchant > Biochemist > Genetic
    Although I do not recommend going the second route since you will loose a LOT of useful skills

    A genetic has pros and cons naming:

    • They have a very powerful MVP killing skill called “Acid Demonstration” and “Cart-Cannon” (For Ghost Property)
    • They have the skill that makes anything indestructible (EVEN WITH DIETER’S PYROCLASTIC) naming “Full-Chemical Protection”
    • They have an extention lifetime pet called either Homunculus or Homunculus S (more to talk with PROs at the content)
    • Although they can deal any type of damage (as stated in the description), they cannot achieve full damage of every type at the same time.
    • They have a low hp pool compared to the other characters
    • They are a VERY EXPENSIVE character to gear and use everytime (more CONs at the content)

    Stats

    Stats are important for every chacater of this game. Knowing what they do to your genetic really gives you a bit of knowledge what and what not to boost.

    • STR – a stat that raises your Base Attack, character weight limit and half of your weapon attack.

    (Affected Genetic Skills: cart tornado, hallucination drug (attack), thorn wall (attack), acid demontstration, and cart cannon)

    • AGI – a stat used to raise your Flee, Attack Speed, soft def, and to resist some kind of status (unsure about this).
    • VIT – a stat used to raise your HP, Soft Def, soft mdef, healing item effects, hp recovery and as well resist most of the status ailments. (e.g. Stun
    • INT – a stat used to raise hp, matk, soft mdef, sp recovery and decrease cast time. – This stat is the main focus for almost every Genetic’s skill

    (Affected Genetic Skills: blood sucker, cart cannon, demonic fire (matk), hell’s plant, thorn trap)

    • DEX – a stat used to increase atk, matk, and decrease cast time.
    • LUK – a stat used to increase atk, matk, flee rate, and resist some status ailments.

    Second/Trans Job Skills

    Second Job Skill/Max Lvl Notes
    Axe Mastery Lv 10 You won’t really need this as “mastery skills” only add damage to the (end) of your atk. Let’s say you hit a monster for 1000 dmg; You will do 1030 with this one.
    Learning Potion Lv 10 For Potion Brewers, you have to max this one. For MvP builds

    you’ll only need the ingredients required.

    Transcedent Job Skill/ Max Lv Notes
    Slim Potion Pitcher Lv 10 Same description as Potion pitcher, only difference is you use condensed slim potions and more healing %.
    Full Chemical Protection Lv 5 Essential for Solo or even party MvP hunting. Also a good use for PvP.
    Acid Demonstration Lv 10 One of the strongest MvP killing skills that depends on your INT, ATK and the enemy’s VIT.
    Plant Cultivation Lv 2 If you need to farm plants and hope to get requirements for brewing, this skill is a go-to. Otherwise just leave it.

    Note: As you start your journey, Eden Equipment will be provided to you by the Eden Headquarters. If you complete certain quests at certain levels, you can acquire them, and they are usually more suitable than any other basic items made in the game. Also, some of the armors given can be enchanted with stats/damage modifiers for a cheap requirement.

    I will only recommend the mid-end game equipment, please save all your zennies for those ones. Choosing a genetic for a first character is never a cheap option, please feel free to edit my post for added information.

When you’ve completed them, report to the Eden Group Member then to instructor Ur. You will receive your third and final set of Eden Equipment from Blacksmith Thorn in the room behind the Blue Door.
    • Lv 85 – Lv 114
      • Level range to join the first bracket of Gramps quests. Note that Gramps quests are rotated at the start of every month. You can also hunt them outside of Gramps map. Use the @whereis (monster name) command to find out where a monster spawns.
    • Lv 91 – Lv 99
      • Note that several quests in this board in particular give you the option of rewarding you with normal Base and Job EXP, or give zero Base EXP and twice as much Job EXP. If you think a particular build or job class may have trouble with getting Job Levels, please suggest some Lv 91-99 quests for them, and mention the double Job EXP reward option.

    Lv 100+

    If you have been giving solo leveling tips so far, you must give tips for leveling in a party in this section. Few job classes are able to level solo easily after reaching Lv 100, and players may have difficulty adjusting from solo leveling to party leveling. It’s very important to explain once more the role of the job class in a party, what they can do to help, what skills to use and in which situation, and so on.
