ghost seeds

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Thank you for playing Ghost SEED. We have had a wonderful couple of years, and we hope you’ve enjoyed playing this game as much as we’ve enjoyed making it for you. You’re all a fantastic bunch of players, and we feel blessed that you’ve chosen to spend some of your precious leisure time with us and with your fellow operatives. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for playing Ghost SEED. We will be keeping the website (http://ghostseedonline.com) online for posterity’s sake.

The game will continue to run for the near future, but no new characters may be created, nor SEEDs placed, bought, sold, or gathered. We have decided to release the game as an open source project in the hopes that it may continue in some form in the future.. We will spend the next few weeks packaging this up, sanitizing the database to remove sensitive information (passwords, email addresses), and the like. We will place a notice here as soon as we have completed this.

Thank you again for playing Ghost SEED! We love you all!

Ghost SEED – the global game of local influence

Ghost SEED is a free-to-play, massively-multiplayer, location-based game for Android devices, with an iOS port coming in 2013. Sign up as an operative for one of three Practical Particle Physics research organizations and start claiming territory for your side!

When we say local, we mean very, very local.

Spitting distance local. Everything you do in the game is done within a

25 meter radius of your observed position on Earth. The game is played with dynamic, interacting pieces called SEEDs (Selective Entropy Emitting Dualities); other players are invisible in the game. Their ghostly influence can only be felt through the effects of their SEEDs.

It’s a game of territorial control played on a global map.

Players choose a side in the three-way struggle for control of research and development of the newly discovered Quantum Realm, a place where the basic structures of the universe are observable and malleable. You will place SEEDs to claim territory, attack enemies and defend allies. This is not just a numbers game – attacks happen through line-of-sight so position and placement matter.

Strategize with your teammates. Undermine your enemies.

Each organization has a unique motivation, but all are hell bent on expanding their influence at the expense of the others. Forums and in-game messaging allow you to strategize and coordinate tactical maneuvers with teammates. A dynamic, single-server, persistent world means your victories (and defeats) will change the balance of power on the map. The shape of the conflict will decide the direction the game takes – as teams adapt and take action, so will the game conform to their choices.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Thank you for playing Ghost SEED. We have had a wonderful couple of years, and we hope you’ve enjoyed playing this game as much as we’ve enjoyed making it

ERYNGIUM GIGANTEUM ‘MISS WILMOTT’S GHOST’

Description

One of the most impressive summer plants you can grow in the UK, with unbelievable metallic silvery-blue leaves, flowers and stems. The word gigantea refers to the flowers, not the plants which are rarely more than 0.6 metres high. So named, as famous gardener, Miss Wilmott, used to walk around friends’ gardens secretly scattering the seeds from her pocket. Surprisingly, and totally unexpectedly (so please remember this. ), they come up the first year with soft green leaves, nothing at all like the final plant. They later die down to a hardy tuber to overwinter. But, surprise, surprise. the following year erupts the fabulous metallic, silver-grey familiar foliage, followed by the amazing flower heads. Everyone should grow one!

Sowing Advice

Sow seeds IMMEDIATELY you receive them, at any time of the year, they depend on having several months, sometimes up to a year in cold, damp compost, (NOT DRY IN A FRIDGE) before they will germinate. Keep the seed tray moist in a cold greenhouse or shady corner and do not discard. These fresh seeds can be very slow to germinate but do not use any artificial heat in an attempt to germinate them as it may simply disrupt their germination mechanism causing them to enter even deeper dormancy.
