Fruit of the Gods
Cannabissearch.com Buzz Rating: While the flavor isn’t my favorite, I can see how a lot of people would like it. It sparkles with a light and smooth inhale and has deeper floral and Haze flavors upon exhale. The high definitely creeps up on you, resulting in a nearly completely heady high. FOG would be great for someone with depression due to the highly uplifting and joyful effects it provides.
Fruit of the Gods is preceded by its mother, a Northern Lights #5 x Haze cross and its Skunk #1 father. This happy family has unusually small but very dense buds for a sativa, and she grows of slightly below average height, usually no more than 5 feet indoors. The yield most growers can expect from FOG is consistently above average to moderately heavy. She’ll do great inside or out, but will produce up to 1 ½ times bigger yield when grown in warmer outdoor climates. Indoors, she’ll stretch a bit in the first 3 weeks of flowering, where her side-branches will begin to fill out with buds. Except for the unmistakably sativa-like leaves, many people would mistake this plant for an indica due to how bushy she can grow.
If you’re a sativa-lover then Fruit of the Gods is just the forbidden fruit for you. It will begin by filling your nostrils with a pleasant and light floral, berry and skunk aroma, before a similar flavor follows. The high will then creep to full effect after 10 to 20 minutes, taking you on a heady, joyful, cerebrally dominated high for the next 2 hours. You’ll also be pleased to know that this strain – when grown properly – can contain more than 20% THC with a relatively low CBD content. Enjoy FOG for $45 to $55 an eighth.

Why the fruit of the gods? Well that was what came to mind the first time we smoked this wonderful strain. Even though it was a mostly sativa with strong haze elements coming from its mom, the legendary NL5 Haze, it had an incredibly fruity taste. From our first selection we went with the F.O.G. #11 which is what we used to make our next batches of seeds. This phenotype was amazing, a fruity haze that under the right conditions becomes a beautiful deep purple color. The strain comes from an old NL5 haze phenotype that was around Amsterdam in the late nineties. It was crossed with a Skunk #1 father that came from seeds made in 1988! We were lucky as it was really tough to get them to germinate.
The strain is mostly a sativa but still has a touch of indica in it from the Northern Lights. The plant is tall and does finish in 84 days but is well worth the wait as you will be rewarded by an incredibly strong smoke with an intense fruity flavor. With this strain we tend towards a medium to heavy feeding with the main boosters going in between week 4 and week 6. This one really likes water in the last two weeks of its cycle and takes a week hung upside down to dry. It tends to stretch a bit but likes to have a lot of space as it can get to over 1.5 meters tall.
