Bud grow home
BUD is the main character of the Grow Home and Grow Up games.
Summary [ edit | edit source ]
BUD is a Botanical Utility Droid, a robot tasked with a difficult mission – to save his home planet by harvesting the seeds of giant alien plants. He uses his Floradex to catalog and collect these 24 distinct, unique plant species. He also has several unique movement abilities that allow him to bounce, catapult, and soar through alien environments, solving puzzles and exploring the unknown, hoping to finally grow the planet’s megalithic Star Plants. He does this with his friend POD.
Abilities [ edit | edit source ]
BUD has 6 abilities:
- The FLORADEX, used to scan and replicate flora.
- A Jetpack, used to navigate while jumping.
- An Air Brake, used to survive long falls.
- Ball Mode, used to curl up in to a ball to go further in plants that shoot you, remove fall damage and charge up a boost move.
- A Glider, used to glider around in midair.
- A crystal detector, used to find crystals.

Grow Home Wiki Guide
Transportation Tools are items that help BUD get from one place to another. Unlike Abilities, which require Crystals to unlock, these tools are found around the islands as BUD progresses.
Fall Flowers are the large white daisies found all around the island from the start of the game. Deploying a flower allows BUD to float gracefully rather than plummet. Grab hold of one and pull to place it in BUD’s backpack. While falling, deploy it to begin to float, then steer in the desired direction.
Each flower has a limited number of petals, which continued use of the flower will deplete. The remaining number of petals can be seen on BUD’s backpack. To refill, simply pull another flower.
If BUD is falling a long distance, it is typically best to deploy the flower, then put it away quickly until the next altitude warning, then deploy again.
Tele-Routers allow BUD to fast travel between locations.
To activate a tele-router, grab and pull the panels on the sides.
To use a tele-router, step up onto the platform and use the left stick to select the previously activated tele-router that BUD should travel to.
The Glide Leaf is first discovered in the third stage of the game (the stage in which BUD must connect the plant to 8 energy rocks). It is a large leaf on the ground. The first time BUD finds one it will have a large exclamation point over it.
The leaf is backpack item that allows BUD to float, with much more thrust and steering control than the fall flower. It can be used, then put away, then used again an unlimited number of times, but if BUD touches down on any surface while the leaf is out, it is gone for good (until BUD finds another).
The Glide Leaf is a great way to hunt for crystals – allowing quick and easy views of areas that might be otherwise hard to reach.
