Sensi Seeds – Black Harlequin: Soothing Sensations And Full Flavour

Black Harlequin is one of the latest CBD-rich offerings from Sensi Seeds. She was made by crossing Harlequin and Black Domina, the latter of which is a Cannabis Cup winner. The result is something very special indeed. Black Harlequin is an indica-dominant hybrid that’s sure to be one of your favourite strains as soon as you try it.

Black Harlequin offers a painless growing experience. She is medium-sized and reaches, on average, a height of 150cm both indoors and outdoors. She’ll be ready to harvest after a flowering period of 9 weeks indoors, and her outdoor harvest time is around early October. You can expect huge yields from her, too. She provides up to 600g/m² indoors and up to 800g/plant outdoors.

Whether smoked or vaped, Black Harlequin boasts huge flavours and aromas. Take one sniff and you’ll be met with rich, fruity, and earthy smells with an undercurrent of floral notes. The initial taste is similar; she offers a robust and earthy hit that’s tasty without being overpowering. Piney and fruity flavours arrive fashionably late to round out the experience.

THC purists (read: stoners) may not favour the heavy CBD content. However, she is not a write-off by any means. Black Harlequin, in fact, has a 1:1 ratio of CBD:THC, making for a relaxing smoke that puts all who try her at ease. Even if you’re just trying to get high, she has plenty to offer when included in a smoke or vape session. Her earthy flavours and aromas are second to none, and you can enjoy them at any time of day. Whether you’re all about CBD or a tried and true stoner, it’s worth picking up these seeds!

Black Harlequin description

Black Harlequin Characteristics

Black Harlequin by Sensi Seeds (Sensi #741) is a strain that comes from a combination between a Black Domina and a world-renowned Harlequin strain, which is one of the most successful CBD-rich strains in the United States. This medicinal combination was originally sold as Sensi #741, and the growers around the world that were lucky enough to try this strain say that it’s an incredibly high quality, high yielding and easy to grow plant that can be used medicinally and recreationally. Sensi was originally only going to release three different new strains, but Sensi #741 turned out to be so successful that they wanted everyone to be able to try it.

Growing Black Harlequin Indoors

In indoor grows, this strain grows quite strong and sturdy, producing a branchy structure that’s quite airy too, which allows for more light reach towards the bottom of the plants. We recommend removing some leaves at the start of the flowering period and then halfway through again – do this with care and only remove the largest leaves that seem to be shading the rest of the plant. We recommend placing between 9 and 12 plants per m2, and if grown properly it can generate over 450g per square meter after 55 flowering days. On the other hand, it’s not that hard to grow but you’ll need to give it a decent feeding schedule in order to harvest the absolute most per square meter. You’ll need to keep careful control over the humidity throughout the last couple of flowering weeks, as its flowers grow large and dense.

Growing Black Harlequin Outdoors

In outdoor grows, growing straight in the ground at the start of the season, you can harvest plants that grow over 2m tall with plenty of side branches, which allows you grow plants that are incredibly wide – you can harvest over 700g per plant when done right. We recommend training its structure to keep its branches nice and strong and you’ll definitely need to take care when it comes to caterpillars – its flowers are incredibly large, and it can be hard to find these insects at times, and you may end up with rotting plants without even realizing it. Apart from that, it doesn’t need much care at all and you can easily top it if you want to, or use a SCRoG trellis, or even grow it from June onwards if you’re growing on a balcony or on a roof and need discretion. It should be ready to harvest towards October.

Black Harlequin Medicinal Effect and Aroma

Thanks to its 1:1 ratio and its 50/50 indica/sativa combination, its effect is both physically and mentally relaxing without ending up too strong or intense. This strain is perfect for those looking to start consuming medicinal cannabis. In as far as aroma, this strain produces earthy and floral tones accompanied by an intense, wet earth aftertaste.
