Cars Ministry

The PAC Cars Ministry is designed to provide vehicles to single moms in need.

From burden to blessing, the Cars Ministry gets families back on track.

Our Cars Ministry is a ministry of Princeton Alliance Church designed to provide vehicle donations to single moms in need. We recognize that transportation to employment is often key to a family getting on its feet. With this in mind, we receive donated vehicles, repair them and give them away to those who qualify.

Due to significant demand, we offer assistance only to single moms residing in specific communities of New Jersey’s Mercer and Middlesex counties. Those towns are Cranbury, Dayton, Jamesburg, Kendall Park, Kingston, Monmouth Junction, Monroe, Plainsboro, South Brunswick, East Windsor, West Windsor, Hightstown, Princeton, and Princeton Junction.

Serve in the Garage

Our incredible team of volunteer mechanics is always growing. Anyone 14 years of age and older with an interest in cars is welcome. No experience required.

Donate a Car

It’s easy. Just provide us with some information about your car, and we’ll be in touch to schedule your vehicle drop-off. We accept most makes and models.

Give Financially

Much of what is possible through The Cars Ministry is due to your faithful giving to He Cares We Care. Financial gifts can be conveniently made online.

Are you or someone in the community going through a challenging life situation and are without a vehicle? Our car ministry helps provide a suitable vehicle to meet the needs of an individual or family to sustain their basic day-to-day living. The Car Ministry prayerfully considers application letters from people in the community. The basic requirements for ministry applicants are:

  • have a valid NC drivers license
  • be able to obtain and keep insurance on a vehicle as required by NC law
  • be the person or family making the application (not a third party)
  • be able to cover the costs of owning and maintaining a vehicle
  • be a resident of Wake County, NC
  • have affiliation and successful engagement with one of our a participating partner programs: White Plains UMC Family of Faith Community, Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network, The Carying Place, PLM Families Together

To get started, submit an application letter describing in sufficient detail your need situation to the ministry. Be sure to include your best contact phone number and at least one personal reference not related to you along with their best contact phone number. Once your letter is submitted someone from the ministry will contact you and gather some additional information. You can submit via email ([email protected]), bring it to the church office, or mail it to the church (White Plains United Methodist Church, Attn: Car Ministry, 313 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511).

How to Help: Donate! Donating an unneeded vehicle is a wonderful way to serve those who lack the resources to purchase their own vehicle. If you can forgo the trade-in value on your used auto, consider offering it to the Car Ministry of WPUMC. Donors benefit by knowing a legitimate need is being served, and can receive a tax deduction up to the full value of the vehicle depending on their tax situation. Each vehicle is reviewed by our partner garage and accepted by our volunteer team who make minor repairs and clean up the vehicle before it is given away to a qualified recipient. We handle the title transfer right at the church office, take the paperwork to the DMV, and can even turn in your old plate for you. For more information, please email the Car Ministry at [email protected] The Car Ministry is sponsored by the White Plains United Methodist Men.

Partner Garage:
Apex Transmissions and Automotive Center graciously donate their time and expertise to check out each of our donated cars. Please consider Apex Transmissions for your automotive maintenance needs.
